Privacy & file handling

Your email is processed in your browser, on your device.

What happens to a file

When you choose an EML, MSG, MBOX or TNEF file, the browser reads it into memory. The tools do not send the file, its headers, body, or attachments to a server. Removing the file or leaving the page clears the tool's in-memory state. Downloads are saved wherever your browser normally saves files.

Pasted text and composed messages

Text entered in the editors, address extractor, mailto generator and HTML preview stays in the current browser workspace. Composed EML downloads retain the HTML source you enter; their previews are sanitized separately. Redacted copies remove original metadata and attachments, but you still need to review the remaining text. Contacting support uses your email service and shares the message you choose to send.

Remote content stays blocked

Emails can reference tracking pixels, external images, fonts, and stylesheets. EMLKit blocks that content. Scripts, forms, and active content are removed from previews and HTML exports. Supported images embedded inside the message can still be displayed.

Normal website requests

Your browser downloads the website code and locally hosted fonts to run the tools. Choosing the sample downloads a fictional email from this site. The hosting provider may receive ordinary website request information such as IP address and user agent. These requests do not include the email you choose.

Storage and tracking

Your light or dark theme preference is saved in browser storage when available. This version does not store your emails in browser storage, create user accounts, or include analytics and advertising scripts.

What exports contain

PDF and image exports contain the rendered message and optional main headers. PDF pages are image-based, so their text is not selectable or searchable. HTML exports are sanitized, self-contained copies with supported inline images. Attachments are downloaded separately. Selected EML downloads remove MBOX escaping according to your chosen variant. Decoded MIME part downloads preserve original content and are not sanitized. Your original file is never modified.

Current limits

One file at a time, up to 25 MB. MBOX archives support up to 500 messages. MIME inspection supports up to 1,000 parts and 30 nesting levels. Very long image-based exports may exceed browser limits; use HTML for those messages. Viewing a message does not verify its authenticity.
